Specifications
Length: Rod length depends on the technique used. Rods longer than six feet were considered long in the past, but they are now rarer than six-and-a-half feet. Longer rods provide more leverage on hooksets and increase casting distance. Short rods, however, provide pinpoint accuracy around close targets.
Power: A rod’s flex is its power. A harder rod has a higher power rating. For casting lighter lures, you may need a more lightweight power rod, while a heavier rod will give you more “backbone” to fight fish and heave larger interests with greater force.

For heavy bass, you need heavy-duty rods.
Rods for spinning
Spinner reels have rod guides facing downward. Because of this, a big fish can pull an eyelet off the rod when you fight.
A spinning rod has different lengths and actions for catching fish. Use thin lines and ultralight spinning rods for panfish or trout. Finesse bass fishing requires medium-heavy action rods six to seven feet long.
The best surfcasting rods are heavy action with elongated handles for two-handed casting.
Because spinning rods are used with large loops or coils of line, their guides are large and heavily tapered.
Quick guides reduce waves to send the line straight. It creates friction on the line, slows casting speed, and reduces distance.

A saltwater casting reel seat will have similar features to a freshwater casting reel seat, such as a body style, a trigger, and a locking hood. These seats accommodate bigger reels and fasten their reels to the rod.
The reel seat size depends on the rod blank’s inside diameter (I.D.) and outside diameter (O.D.).
When you shop by fishing application, reel size is generally accounted for in each category’s inventory.
The sizes of freshwater seats are 16 and 17, while saltwater seats overlap a bit but are typically 18 to 24.
Seats in the 20s are reserved for big rods going offshore to catch pelagic species.
Now those sizes are more for spinning or casting builds. Offshore reel seats for bottom fishing, trolling, and so forth will be made with an aluminium butt.

Add your arbor.
Place three arbors equally spaced under the reel seat. Try the reel seat over each pavilion as you add it to ensure it’s snug.
Fix graphite or polyurethane arbors first. Ream the pavilion until it fits the blank handle.
Dry fit handles components first.
EPOXY STEP 2: APPLY
Remove two equal scoops of ProPaste Epoxy from the resin and hardener. Mix these two thoroughly between the tape arbors and over the top.
Apply epoxy straight to blank slightly higher than the reel seat.
Seal the barrel threads of your reel seat with epoxy.
